The Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción 4 Days / 3 Nights program offers an immersive journey into the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, starting in Puerto Maldonado and traveling along the Madre de Dios River to the renowned Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción lodge. Surrounded by lush rainforest, this eco-lodge blends comfort, sustainability, and extraordinary biodiversity.
Highlights include a visit to the stunning Lago Sandoval, guided jungle walks, the iconic canopy walkway for breathtaking treetop views, and canoe excursions through Cocha Concepción to observe wildlife. Guests will also explore natural clay licks, botanical areas, and diverse ecosystems within the remarkable Tambopata National Reserve, making this program ideal for travelers seeking adventure and a deeper connection with the Amazon rainforest.
DAY 01: INKATERRA HACIENDA CONCEPCIÓN IN
Arrival and welcome in Puerto Maldonado, known as the Capital of Biodiversity.
Your adventure begins with a 25‑minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River to the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción lodge. Upon arrival, your cabin or room will be ready, followed by a buffet lunch in the Casa Grande dining room, before exploring the depths of the rainforest on foot, starting at the Eco Center.
Later, you will take a trail to explore the ecosystems of the Amazon Basin. At sunset, during the boat ride along the Madre de Dios River, we will observe the fascinating transformation of the rainforest as its daytime animals and birds give way to species adapted to the darkness of the night.
In the evening, you will enjoy an à la carte dinner prepared with native Amazonian ingredients.
Overnight at Hacienda Concepción.
DAY 02: HACIENDA CONCEPCIÓN
Buffet breakfast.
Early in the morning we will visit Lake Sandoval, a shining mirror of water located within the Tambopata National Reserve. We will navigate this beautiful lake in a wooden canoe, which is home to many species of birds, the endangered giant river otter, howler monkeys, and more.
Lunch at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción.
In the afternoon, prepare to climb the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway and explore the Anaconda Walk, an advanced system of eco‑friendly suspension bridges. In this unforgettable experience, you will observe the Amazon rainforest from the treetops, enjoy the sunset with cocktails from an observation tower, or spend a unique night in a *treehouse (additional cost)**.
On the way back, you may join the Hidden Rainforest excursion under the moonlight, walking among the vegetation and the nocturnal sounds of the forest. If you prefer to relax, you may reserve a therapy session at the Nua Spa, immersed in the tropical rainforest.
19:00 hrs: À la carte dinner.
Overnight at Hacienda Concepción.
DAY 03: HACIENDA CONCEPCIÓN
After breakfast at the lodge, we will visit the organic bio‑garden to discover tropical forest plants and their medicinal uses according to the traditions of local communities.
Then we will visit the Palmetum, a collection of Amazonian palm species in a conservation and restoration area.
In the afternoon, prepare for the next excursion to Cocha Concepción, taking a wooden canoe ride around the horseshoe‑shaped lagoon formed by remnants of the Madre de Dios River.
You will also discover the skeleton of a steamship stranded in the water, where caimans and piranhas hide. Under the catch‑and‑release practice, you can test your piranha fishing skills just as native communities do, using a wooden fishing rod.
Before dinner, we will visit one of the clay licks (collpas) — “salty place” in Quechua — during the Inland Clay Lick excursion. Please note that wildlife sightings depend on luck; however, you will learn how these clay walls attract a diversity of mammals that hide near the lodge.
Overnight at Hacienda Concepción.
DAY 04: HACIENDA CONCEPCIÓN OUT
Enjoy your last morning with the sounds of the rainforest while parakeets chatter in the trees and monkeys swing between the branches.
Enjoy breakfast at Casa Grande.
10:00 hrs: Check out. Depending on your return flight schedule, you may request *lunch (additional cost)**.
For your return, you will take a 25‑minute boat ride upstream to reach the airport.
End of services.
