HUMANTAY LAKE
The Humantay Lake Tour is a spectacular one-day hike that allows visitors to discover one of the most impressive lakes in the Andes. During the experience, you will visit Humantay Lake, famous for its intense turquoise-blue waters, located in the majestic Vilcabamba Mountain Range.
Throughout the journey, you will be surrounded by the imposing Salkantay and Humantay mountains, considered sacred Apus in the Andean worldview. This natural setting offers a unique connection with the energy of the Andes and unforgettable panoramic views, making this excursion a must-do experience in Cusco.
Information:
We begin our adventure very early with hotel pickup between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. After a journey of approximately two and a half hours by vehicle, we arrive at the picturesque town of Mollepata, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, perfect for recharging our energy before continuing.
Then, we continue the journey for another hour to Soraypampa (3,870 m.a.s.l.), the starting point of our hike and also a camping area.
From here, we will begin a hike of approximately 2 hours to our destination: the impressive Humantay Lake, located at 4,200 m.a.s.l. Upon arrival, you will be amazed by the stunning turquoise color of its waters, framed by the majestic Humantay and Salkantay snow-capped mountains, considered sacred by the ancient Incas.
The natural beauty and serenity of the place make every step worthwhile.
After enjoying the scenery and taking incredible photographs, we will begin our return to Soraypampa, with a hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Later, we will return to Mollepata, where we will enjoy a comforting buffet lunch.
We finish the tour by returning to the city of Cusco, with an estimated arrival time around 6:00 p.m.
