LIMA GASTRONOMIC AND CULTURAL CITY TOUR

ITINERARY:

08:30 HOURS | HOTEL PICK-UP

Our official tour guide will pick you up from your hotel, located in Miraflores, San Isidro, or Barranco, to begin a fascinating journey through the three stages of Lima’s history: pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern.

09:00 HOURS | LOVE PARK AND MODERN LIMA

We will begin by visiting the romantic Love Park, where we will enjoy a beautiful view of the sea and see the iconic sculpture “The Kiss,” which welcomes us to a modern and vibrant Lima.

At this location, we will take souvenir photographs, which will be given to each passenger.

As we travel through the city, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the majestic Huaca Pucllana, an ancient ceremonial and archaeological center considered a sacred place by the Incas.

HISTORIC CENTER OF LIMA

Little by little, we will leave contemporary Lima behind to enter the heart of the City of Kings. Upon arriving at the Historic Center, its colonial façades, wooden balconies, and monumental squares will transport us back to the viceregal era.

During the tour, we will enjoy panoramic views of the elegant Palace of Justice, the traditional Paseo de los Héroes, and other places that have witnessed centuries of history.

We will also enter the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, known as the Central Museum, where we will admire unique pieces, textiles, ceramics, and an impressive vault containing archaeological gold pieces.

MAIN SQUARE OF LIMA

We will continue our walk toward the Main Square of Lima, the setting where the city was born almost five centuries ago.

Surrounded by the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the Municipal Palace, this emblematic square continues to be the historical and political heart of the country.

CONVENT AND CHURCH OF SAN FRANCISCO

Later, we will visit one of the city’s greatest architectural treasures: the Convent and Church of San Francisco.

During the visit, we will observe images of various saints, altarpieces, pulpits, vaults, and other religious expressions of great historical value.

PERUVIAN FLAVORS EXPERIENCE

After traveling through centuries of history, it will be time to discover another of Peru’s great treasures: its gastronomy.

We will enjoy a first tasting experience of local fruits, such as aguaymanto, lúcuma, cherimoya, aguaje, and camu camu. The variety of fruits may change depending on the season.

We will also taste native potatoes and a selection of piscos and Peruvian cocktails, authentic representatives of our national identity:

• Pisco
• Pisco sour
• Passion fruit sour
• Maracumango sour
• Lúcuma cream

CHURCH AND CONVENT OF SANTO DOMINGO

We will visit the historic Church and Convent of Santo Domingo. Inside, the Altar of the Peruvian Saints stands out, located in the right transept, where reliquaries containing the remains of three important saints and a marble sculpture of Saint Rose of Lima, created by Melchor Caffá, are preserved.

The three Peruvian saints are:

• Saint Rose of Lima
• Saint Martin de Porres
• Saint John Macías

During the visit, we will learn about their stories, miracles, and legacies, which have transcended generations, as well as the reasons why these figures are so important and deeply loved by Peruvians.

GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE IN MIRAFLORES

At the end of this journey through the three stages of Lima—pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern—we will bring the experience to a perfect close.

We will return to the district of Miraflores to visit a restaurant specializing in seafood. There, the chef will explain how ceviche is prepared and what types of fish are used. We will also learn about the preparation of tiradito and boliyucas with huancaína sauce, one of Peru’s most emblematic sauces.

This experience will allow us to discover more about our gastronomy and understand why it is recognized worldwide.

AM SESSION EXPERIENCE

After the explanation, we will taste:

• Classic ceviche
• Boliyucas with huancaína sauce
• Tiradito in yellow chili pepper sauce

PM SESSION EXPERIENCE

During the afternoon session, the following will take place:

• Demonstration class
• Pisco and chilcano tasting
• Tequeño and boliyuca appetizers with huancaína sauce
