SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

FULL DAY

From $35.00 /person

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is one of the most important and emblematic destinations in Cusco. This fertile region, traditionally dedicated to corn cultivation, was a key territory during the Inca period and played a fundamental role in the expansion of the empire.

Throughout the valley, various tambos and administrative centers were built, which over time became important Inca citadels. Among the most representative are Pisac and Ollantaytambo, impressive archaeological complexes that reflect the advanced architectural, agricultural, and strategic knowledge of this civilization.

Visiting the Sacred Valley means immersing yourself in the living history of the Andes, surrounded by spectacular landscapes and a millennia-old cultural heritage.

Information:

On this day, we will explore some of the most important archaeological centers of the Inca Empire while enjoying breathtaking Andean landscapes.

Our tour begins with hotel pick-up between 7:20 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., after which we will head toward the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Our first stop will be Pisac, where we will visit one of the most emblematic archaeological complexes in the region. Here lies the largest known Inca cemetery, with more than 2,000 tombs. We will also admire the impressive agricultural terraces carved into the mountains, explore an ancient Inca tunnel, and walk through the religious sector of this ancestral citadel. In Pisac, we will have approximately two hours to explore and learn about its history.

Next, we will visit the Pisac handicraft market, a vibrant commercial center offering typical products, traditional textiles, and local handicrafts.

Afterward, we will head to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will continue to Ollantaytambo, a town that still preserves its original Inca urban layout. Here, we will visit the impressive Temple of the Sun, located at the top of spectacular terraces. This site played a key role during the Inca resistance against the Spanish conquistadors, and during the visit, we will learn more about its history and significance.

Our final destination will be Chinchero, a picturesque Andean village located at 3,754 meters above sea level, known for its textile centers and ancestral traditions. Here, we will receive a brief but enriching explanation of traditional textile production, carried out using pre-Columbian techniques.

Finally, we will return to Cusco, concluding an unforgettable day filled with history, living culture, and natural beauty.
