This program will take us to discover two of the main tourist attractions of the Sacred Valley of the Incas: the iconic Maras Salt Mines and the fascinating Moray Archaeological Site.
The experience begins in the city of Cusco, with hotel pick-up at 8:00 a.m. From there, we will head to Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory. At this site, the Incas designed a system of circular terraces that recreated different microclimates, allowing them to adapt crops to various altitudes.
After exploring Moray, we will continue to the picturesque town of Maras, where we can admire its charming colonial church and enjoy its traditional atmosphere.
Finally, we will visit the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a complex of more than 3,000 salt ponds that have been active since Inca times. These salt mines were of great importance to Andean civilizations, not only as a source of salt for consumption, but also as an essential method for food preservation through dehydration.
The tour concludes in the afternoon with the return to Cusco, with an estimated arrival time of around 2:00 p.m.
