IKAM AMAZON LODGE 04 DAYS – 03 NIGHTS
The Ikam Amazon Lodge 4 Days / 3 Nights program offers an immersive rainforest experience starting in Puerto Maldonado and traveling along the Madre de Dios and Tambopata rivers to a comfortable lodge surrounded by pristine jungle. Guests will explore the Amazon through guided excursions, river navigation, and wildlife observation in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.
Highlights of the itinerary include a visit to the stunning Lago Sandoval, home to giant river otters, monkeys, and colorful birdlife, as well as the unforgettable early-morning experience of watching parrots and parakeets gather at Collpa Cachuela. With sunset boat rides, jungle walks, and optional night explorations, this program perfectly blends adventure and relaxation in the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve.
DAY 01:
Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, we will welcome you at the airport to begin this Amazonian experience. We will then transfer to Capitanía Port, where you will board our boat to navigate along the Madre de Dios and Tambopata Rivers toward the lodge. During the journey, you will enjoy the lush vegetation and, if conditions allow, observe local wildlife.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our team, complete the check‑in process, and later enjoy a lunch featuring regional flavors.
In the afternoon, we will take a boat ride along the Tambopata River to admire the Amazon sunset, accompanied by drinks and light snacks. On the return trip, we will search for nocturnal wildlife such as caimans along the riverbanks. Finally, you will enjoy an à la carte dinner and rest surrounded by the serenity of the jungle.
DAY 02:
Wake up to the sounds of tropical birds and enjoy an energizing buffet breakfast starting at 5:00 a.m., perfect for beginning a day full of nature and adventure.
We will then depart for the majestic Sandoval Lake on a half‑day excursion. We will navigate along the river and later take a walk until reaching this natural paradise located in the Madre de Dios region. Aboard a canoe, we will explore its calm waters, home to extraordinary biodiversity where you may observe giant river otters, howler monkeys, macaws, hoatzins, as well as caimans, turtles and various exotic birds.
We will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will have free time to relax or participate in optional activities such as birdwatching or jungle walks. In the evening, you will enjoy an à la carte dinner and, optionally, you may join a night jungle walk or share a special moment around a campfire, experiencing the magic of the Amazon up close.
DAY 03:
To appreciate this wonderful natural spectacle, we will depart very early. At 4:30 a.m., we will board our boat heading to Collpa Cachuela, located approximately 30 minutes from the lodge.
At sunrise, the clay wall becomes the stage for an impressive display of parrots and parakeets, including the yellow‑crowned parrot, mealy parrot, and occasionally the blue‑headed macaw. Wildlife observation will take place from the boat, with the support of binoculars provided by the guide.
We will return to the lodge around 8:00 a.m. to enjoy breakfast. The rest of the day will be free to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities, with lunch and dinner included.
DAY 04:
After enjoying a final breakfast in the jungle, we will check out of the lodge at 10:00 a.m.. Afterwards, we will begin the land transfer to Puerto Maldonado Airport.
