The Essence of the Inka 04 Days / 03 Nights program is a complete journey through the highlights of Cusco and its rich Inca heritage, blending history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. From a guided city tour exploring the Temple of the Sun and nearby archaeological sites, to the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas, this itinerary showcases the most iconic sites of the ancient Inca Empire.
The experience culminates with a visit to the legendary Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, where travelers can explore its terraces, temples, and sacred spaces with an expert guide. With an overnight stay in Machu Picchu Pueblo, this program offers a well-balanced and unforgettable adventure in the Peruvian Andes.
DAY 01: CUSCO CITY TOUR 4 RUINS
Upon your arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport in Cusco, our driver will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name to give you a warm welcome and comfortably transfer you to your accommodation.
In the afternoon, between 1:30 p.m. and 1:50 p.m., our transportation will pick you up to begin a fascinating tour of some of the city’s main tourist attractions.
We will visit the impressive Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, one of the most important constructions of the Inca period.
Then, we will explore the Four Archaeological Ruins:
- Sacsayhuamán, whose name in Quechua means “Satisfied Falcon,” an impressive fortress with enormous stone blocks.
- Qenqo, or “Labyrinth,” a mysterious sanctuary with channels and passageways carved into rock.
- Puca Pucara, the “Red Fortress,” which served as a control and protection point in Inca times.
- Tambomachay, known as the “Baths of the Inca,” with its water fountains that were likely used for rituals and ceremonies in honor of water.
We conclude the tour with our return to the city of Cusco.

DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / CONNECTION TO MACHU PICCHU TOWN
This day is dedicated to discovering some of the most important archaeological centers of the Inca Empire, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Our transportation will pick you up between 7:20 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. to begin the journey to the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our first stop will be at the Pisac archaeological complex, where we will visit the largest known Inca cemetery, with more than 2,000 tombs. We will admire the impressive agricultural terraces carved into the mountainside, walk through an original Inca tunnel, and explore the religious area of this ancient citadel. We will spend approximately 2 hours exploring this fascinating archaeological site.
Then, we will head to the Pisac artisan market, famous for its color and authenticity. We will continue the journey to Urubamba, where we will enjoy an included buffet lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca town that is still inhabited, known for its massive stone constructions. We will explore the impressive ruins of the Temple of the Sun, located high on the formidable terraces, while learning about the strategic importance of this site during the early years of the Spanish conquest.
At the end of the visit, we will say goodbye to our guide and board the train to Machu Picchu Town. Upon arrival, a member of our team will be waiting to take you to your accommodation. Later, our guide will visit your hotel to provide the necessary instructions for the visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

DAY 03: Machu Picchu – Wonder of the World – Return to Cusco
Visit to Machu Picchu – Wonder of the World
According to the prior coordination with our guide, at the indicated time we will head to the bus station, from where we will begin the ascent to the majestic citadel. We will climb approximately 400 meters in altitude along a zigzag road for about 30 minutes, until reaching the impressive Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as “The Lost City of the Incas.”
Once at the citadel, we will enjoy an unforgettable landscape. Our guide will begin the tour explaining the history, architecture, and symbolism of the main sectors, such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Area, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the ancient funerary areas. The circuit to be followed will depend on the schedule and type of ticket assigned. On average, the guided tour lasts more than two hours.
After the visit, we will take the buses back to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we will have free time for lunch and to explore the picturesque town, known for its welcoming atmosphere and artisan shops. It is important to keep track of time, as we must be at the train station at least 25 minutes in advance to board the return train to Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival at the station, our driver will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco.
