The Essence of the Inka 04 Days / 03 Nights program is a complete journey through the highlights of Cusco and its rich Inca heritage, blending history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. From a guided city tour exploring the Temple of the Sun and nearby archaeological sites, to the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas, this itinerary showcases the most iconic sites of the ancient Inca Empire.
The experience culminates with a visit to the legendary Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, where travelers can explore its terraces, temples, and sacred spaces with an expert guide. With an overnight stay in Machu Picchu Pueblo, this program offers a well-balanced and unforgettable adventure in the Peruvian Andes.
DAY 01: CUSCO CITY TOUR – 4 RUINS
Upon your arrival at Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport in Cusco, our driver will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name to warmly welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your hotel.
In the afternoon, between 1:30 pm and 1:50 pm, our transportation will pick you up to begin a fascinating tour of some of the main tourist attractions in the city. We will visit the impressive Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, one of the most important constructions of the Inca period.
Then, we will explore the four archaeological ruins:
Sacsayhuamán, whose name in Quechua means “Satisfied Falcon,” an impressive fortress with massive stone blocks.
Qenqo, or “Labyrinth,” a mysterious sanctuary with channels and passages carved into rock.
Puca Pucara, the “Red Fortress,” which served as a control and defense point in Inca times.
Tambomachay, known as the “Inca Baths,” with its water fountains used for rituals and ceremonies in honor of water.
We finish the tour with our return to Cusco city.

DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / CONNECTION TO MACHU PICCHU TOWN
This day is dedicated to discovering some of the most important archaeological centers of the Inca Empire, surrounded by stunning landscapes. Our transportation will pick you up between 7:20 am and 7:50 am to begin the journey to the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our first stop will be the archaeological complex of Pisac, where we will visit the largest known Inca cemetery, with more than 2,000 tombs. We will admire the impressive agricultural terraces carved into the mountain, walk through an original Inca tunnel, and explore the religious area of this ancient citadel. We will spend approximately 2 hours exploring this fascinating site.
Then, we will head to the Pisac artisan market, famous for its color and authenticity. We will continue to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch included.
In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca town still inhabited, known for its colossal stone constructions. We will explore the impressive ruins of the Temple of the Sun, located high on the terraces, while learning about the strategic importance of this site during the early years of the Spanish conquest.
At the end of the visit, we will say goodbye to our guide and board the train to Machu Picchu Town. Upon arrival, a member of our team will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Later, your guide will visit your accommodation to provide instructions for the Machu Picchu visit the next day.

DAY 03: MACHU PICCHU – WONDER OF THE WORLD – RETURN TO CUSCO
According to prior coordination with our guide, at the scheduled time we will head to the bus station to begin the ascent to the majestic citadel. We will ascend approximately 400 meters via a zigzag road for about 30 minutes until reaching the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as “The Lost City of the Incas.”
Once there, we will enjoy an unforgettable landscape. Our guide will begin the tour explaining the history, architecture, and symbolism of the main sectors, such as the Main Plaza, Circular Tower, Sacred Sun Area, Royal Quarters, Temple of the Three Windows, and ancient burial areas. The circuit will depend on the assigned schedule and ticket type. The guided tour lasts approximately more than 2 hours.
After the visit, we will take the bus back to Machu Picchu Town, where you will have free time for lunch and to explore the town. It is important to be punctual, as we must be at the train station at least 25 minutes before departure.
Upon arrival at the station, our driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
